Halloween Recap

This Halloween was so much fun! Lance and I went to our ward's Trunk or Treat on the 24th. This is the first time we had ever gone to one. We all sported our Jazz t-shirts and went as Utah Jazz fans (there are A LOT of members in our ward from Utah).
I made some really sweet decorations for our car out of cardboard, black shower curtains and some glass cups painted green with a tea light candle in them. I forgot to take the camera so we didn't get pictures of it, but to help you envision it... I made two picket fences out of the cardboard, painted them black and dry burshed some gray paint over that to make it look sort of like an old black iron fence. I then used some of that spider web stuff and stretched it over the fences. The fences made a path to the back of our Jeep Cherokee. Along the fences I put tombstones I made from cardboard as well. Then I put the green glass cups with the tea lights between the tombstones to put off a cool green flickery glow. I used the shower curtains to close off the back of the Jeep and make it sort of spooky. Then I sat in the back of the Jeep and waited for the kids to come up. Some of them were quite hesitant because they were sure something was going to jump out at them. It was so much fun.
For the trunk or treat I also made a banana cream pie for the pie contest and...I won! Lance was so proud!
We carved pumpkins with Jared and Camille and Casey and Dawnielle on the Wednesday night before Halloween. That was lots of fun. The only problem, it was so hot on Thursday and Friday that the pumpkins with a really detailed carving shriveled up beyond recognition!!! That was not expected! I'm used to Utah weather in the fall. Not 80 degree weather on Halloween!!!
On Halloween, Lance took Luke trick-or-treating with my brother Jared and his three girls. Luke went dressed as a pirate. It was a last minute throw together costume because Lance didn't want to take Luke as a Jazz fan in this Dallas Maverick country LOL! It turned out pretty cute though. I took some pictures with Camille's camera, and will post them as soon as I get them.
Anyway...it was great fun!
