Okay...I'm sew happy!

Sewing is so much fun! Here's another little dress I made for Delaney out of a onesie. I found a tutorial here. FUN! FUN! FUN! And totally easy! My original plan was to just applique the stars on the front. While browsing some blogs, I ran across a site with a onesie skirt tutorial and knew that I just HAD to add the skirt!

I sewed it! :)

For a church Relief Society activity we learned how to do some sewing. I was working on a skirt but when I got home and tried it on, I wasn't a fan of how it fit. I tried to take out some of the fabric so it wasn't so full and really messed it up! :( I decided to cut a new pattern, but the new skirt needs a zipper and I'm not quite sure how to go about doing that. I was really enjoying my sewing adventure so I set aside my skirt and sewed Delaney a dress, without a pattern. It was SEW much fun! :) It isn't perfect, but I think it still turned out okay. Here are a couple of pictures.

Rub-a-dub dub...fun in the tub!

Just thought I'd post a couple pictures of my adorable kids. :) Delaney is to the point now where she gets just about everywhere she wants to go...including the bathroom when Luke is in the tub (don't be alarmed...I was in there doing my hair and Delaney was in our bedroom with Lance until she crawled in). Laneybug ADORES her brother SOOOOO much and wants to be EVERYWHERE he is! She thinks he is HILARIOUS and no one can get her to giggle quite as hard as he can. It's pretty darn cute! :)

Happy Mother's Day!

Before I was a Mom

Before I was a Mom,
I made and ate hot meals.
I had unstained clothing.
I had quiet conversations on the phone.

Before I was a Mom,
I slept as late as I wanted
And never worried about how late
I got into bed.
I brushed my hair and teeth everyday.

Before I was a Mom,
I cleaned my house each day.
I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to lullabies.

Before I was a Mom,
I didn't worry whether or not my
plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never been pooped on,
Spit up on,
Chewed on,
Peed on,
Or pinched by tiny fingers.

Before I was a Mom,
I had complete control of myself,
My thoughts,
My body,
And my mind.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child
so that doctors could do tests or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put it down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew something so small could affect
my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of having my
heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a
Mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of
the night every ten minutes to make
sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
The joy,
The love,
The heartache,
The wonderment,
Or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much
Before I was a Mom.

Happy Mother's Day! We LOVE you!
Love,
Lance, Tassia, Lucas and Delaney

Lucas Reed Satterthwaite

Luke had his 3 year check-up the other day and I thought I would post about it. He is currently tipping the scales at 37 lbs (95%) and is 41.75 inches tall (95%). I was a little surprised that his weight was in the 95th percentile because he looks so dang skinny. I suppose all that weight is just spread out!
He has SOOOOOO much energy and goes non-stop ALL day. He loves his little sister even though he does bug her a little too much sometimes. He loves ANYTHING with wheels or wings. He is constantly saying things that make us laugh. One of my favorite things he does is randomly telling me that he loves me. :) He is our wonderful little boy and we are so blessed to have him!
