A little history here...when Luke was about five or six months old, he used to rub his head while I fed him. It was his little self-soothing technique. When he was one and we were visiting in Utah, we gave him his first hair cut and the rubbing of the head as a self-soothing technique stopped. I hadn't seen much of anything as far as self-soothing until about two months ago.
Brace yourself...it's hilarious...at least Lance and I think so.
As most know he is very attached to a blanket that Lance's sister, Melinda, crocheted for him. He would carry that thing everywhere if we would let him. Well his new self-soothing technique is to find a corner of his blanket (preferably the corner where the blanket started as there is a long string end there) and stick it in his ear! LOLOLOL...the first time I saw him doing it I laughed so hard. Quirky little kid anyway! Just thought I'd share.
