Happy Birthday Lucas!!!

Luke turned 3!!! I can hardly believe it! He's getting so big and growing up more each day. Wednesday night (his actual birthday) Lance cooked some burgers on the grill (at Luke's request) and we gave him his big present which was a McQueen two wheel bike. He was so excited. He had a tricycle before and just as he was learning how to pedal, it broke. :( Anyway, he rides his new bike around and around the island in the kitchen. It's cute. I was rocking Delaney and Luke rode up to me and said, "See you later mom. I'll be right back!" Then he made one trip around the island and said, "I'm back!" He's a pretty cute kid.

On Thursday, Luke came home after playing with cousins and Lance said Camille (my sis-in-law) thinks he might be getting pinkeye...gross!!! It was close to bedtime so we waited till morning to see if his eyes were crusted shut and....sure enough...they were! Both eyes crusted shut and goobered up! Poor kid! Anyway...I took him to the CareNow and got some antibiotic eye drops. Saturday morning things were looking much better. So I spent the ENTIRE day...and I do mean ENTIRE day Saturday, disinfecting toys, washing laundry, wiping down doorknobs, light switches, keyboards, the mouse, chairs, tables...any and every surface I could possibly think of.

Here's a picture of him sleeping in our big rocking chair. You can't really tell, but his eyes were goobery and all red around them. We took this picture because his hand was still in place to hold his sippy cup of milk, but I had taken the cup and put it in the fridge.

We decided to keep Luke home from church today. Although his eyes look much, much better we didn't want to freak anyone out at church thinking we were trying to infest all of their children with pinkeye in the nursery! :)

So today, we celebrated his birthday with the cousins. Jared and Camille came over with the girls and we had some pot roast then some cake and ice cream! I made his cake again this year. I picked up a 3D car cake pan from Michael's. I had originally planned on trying to make it look as much like McQueen as I could, but Luke insisted on a green race car cake. So, that's what he got! I think it turned out pretty cute! It was fun to make and decorate...not to mention, it tasted DELICIOUS! :) We had a great time! At any rate...here are some pictures from the day. :)

Singing Happy Birthday!

Opening presents. This is a fire truck he got from Laneybug. The girls got him a 4pk of Cars cars, a Spiderman punching thing, and an airplane! :) Casey brought down the gifts he and D had for him (D wasn't feeling very well) which included a small remote control McQueen and a T-ball set!

Delaney was just lounging most of the day. :) The following pictures aren't from today, but I thought I should post some updated pictures of Delaney...since I'm posting and all. :)
