Snow Fun!!!

I had to first "winterfy" Luke's extremities as much as possible. I put a pair of Lance's crew socks, some plastic wrap, then a pair of Luke's socks in hopes to provide some warmth and a waterproofish barrier (do they even sell snow boots in Texas???). I found his old toddler mittens from when he was a year old. Luckily they are the stretchy kind and still fit. Then I put plastic wrap and a pair of socks over that (I didn't have enough time to finish his mittens before Delaney was ready to go down for her nap). All he'd really need to be able to do is pat snow...right? :) He wore an undershirt, sweatshirt, and his coat. His hat from last year still fit, so out we went!

He picked up a handful of snow and started eating like he'd been doing it for years! I wondered, what makes kids think they can eat snow? It's not like they go outside, pick stuff up off the ground and start eating it on a regular basis. And this is only Luke's second "real" encounter with snow. After eating it he said, "Mmm. That IS good!"

This is the snowman we built in the backyard.

As soon as it was done, Luke thought it needed a hug. :)

Luke and the snowman we built in the front yard. It was much smaller, but I didn't want to use up all the snow in the front. It looked so pretty all white. Our neighbors were out building a snowman as well. I look forward to going for a car ride and probably seeing one in every front yard in the neighborhood. Since Texas hardly gets snow and rarely enough to build a snowman, the kids around here immediately start building snowmen.

Anyway, that was our little snow day while Delaney was taking a nap. It was fun! Kinda made me feel like a kid again. :)

AWW, so inventive! I just put on an extra pair of socks- then had my boys put socks on their hands! lol, needless to say, it didn't work very well, and they were not up to building a snow man.
I'm putting mittens on my shopping list. Not that we will get anymore snow this year- i think weve used it all up!
I'm glad you two had so much fun! And I'm not sure why boys eat snow...but the ALL do!!!
